Refreshed

Just got back from the hotel restaurant, I had a Cobb salad. It was shit. I've been struggling to find healthy food, even the broccoli out here seems to be fried in salt and butter or something, it's weird. Where's a steamer when you need one.

The tour pattern so far has been 6 days on, 1 day off. The days off keep landing on Mondays. It's funny, as the days go on I start developing a hobo beard and I wear a trilby hat with shades. By Sunday, I look 10 years older.

Every Monday when I get chance to have a good shower, dry my hair, have a shave etc, leaving the hotel room is like walking through the doors on 'Stars In Their Eyes' and coming out as....erm.....I can't actually think of anyone, basicly somebody younger and better looking. I don't start singing mind you, and there isn't an audience. Infact I look a bit of an idiot setting the smoke machine up... Fuck it, It's a big moment I deserve it!

We're in Atlanta tomorrow, then we travel upto the midwest. I'm looking forward to Detroit, apparently the festival site is downtown.

Next week there is a 'drum-off' competition backstage in the evening with all the drummers from the bands and crew members who like to play. 1st place is $1000, think I'm gonna enter. Maybe I shouldn't be telling you this because I'll have to tell you if I lose.

Anyway, I can't even see the screen anymore there's smoke everywhere. Think it's time to make my big exit.

Bye for now ;)

Hot nights

Today's our 3rd day off on the tour. I think I prefer show days, it's good to be kept busy and focussed.

We were in New Mexico a few nights ago, me and Paul got on stage with Bad Religion it was rad/. This week there have been 2 or 3 official Warped Tour BBQs in the evenings after the shows. We got hammered at all of them, the measures of spirits over here are far more generous than England.

The air conditioning broke, as did the electricity on our tour bus over night while we were travelling to San Antonio, TX. It was the hottest nights sleep ever, I considered sticking my head out of the sun roof but couldn't find it. Getting up at 7am the morning after was not easy. When we stepped outside it was even hotter.

We spent Independence day in Austin, TX. Watched Gallows and retreated to our hotel bar to drink more beers and shots. Was a good night, it seems that people in Texas are very proud of their country.

The hottest week is over, Indianapolis tomorrow than we travel further north up into Canada.

My tour bus buddy has just entered the room with some freshly baked cookies so I gotta dash.

P.S. I'm gonna be fat when I get back :) x

GO!!

Sat in our hotel room in phoenix, Arizona, over looking an amazing pool. It's been 42 degrees C today, ouch.

Today is our first day off on the tour. So far we've been to Pomona, San Francisco and Ventura in California. The Babycakes tent has been crazy, haven't even had chance to check any bands out yet.
Me, Matt and Paul got wrecked last night. We went out in Ventura with a few of our tour bus buddies. 4 hours, 2 kilometres and 20 beers later, we got back to the bus and instigated a party. In true English style we drunk all of the beers, repeatedly left the toilet seat up and woke up the people who were trying to rest after the last few hectic days.

Last night our bus stopped off at a huge supermarket for everyone to stock up on necessities for the next few days on the road. We were the only 3 who didn't get stocked up coz we were out cold. So tonight, we have to walk through the desert for 40 minutes to the nearest supermarket, fucking ridiculous.

Think I'll have a little swim first though ;) xx

Ready, Set...

Today we're in Pomona, CA. Paul still can't pronounce it, his last effort came out something like 'panamara'. He'll get it!

All of the Tshirts have arrived along with the contents for the Babycakes tent (Banners, Tables, Shelves etc..). We also got to board the tour bus to choose our bunks for the summer :)

Me and Matt have just got back from the official Warped Tour Kick-Off Party at the Glass House in Pomona where we watched Finch. Was OK, but glad to be back on the bus, good night's sleep before the first Warped Tour show tomorrow. Load in is 8am, bon soir x

Tourist

Got up early today, had a shower and walked back to Hollywood Boulevard. Saw the Hollywood sign, yay (Number 1 of 'Top 10 things to do in Hollywood' ticked off'). Next, get a tan.

We needed to get an American phone to use whilst on Warped Tour so me, Matt and Clare walked to the AT&T shop (Biggest phone network in America) whilst Paul stayed in the hotel to finish off editing photos from the Babycakes photoshoot on Sunday.

Got a metro back to Hollywood Boulevard, bought a birthday present for my sister and headed back to hotel - DISASTER - the plan for a tan went wrong and now I've got a really red nose. Applied after sun and went back out for dinner and drinks. Pictures to follow...

Hello Los Angeles

We arrived in LA tonight. We've been travelling for around 21 hrs. We got a cab to the hotel which drove on the freeway around the city, so didn't get chance to check out that much. For a while on the cab journey I thought I was on 'America's Wildest Police Chases' with the eratic driver and hectic traffic (and the retired sheriff who shared the cab with me, weird).

The hotel is nice, smells a bit weird. We're on Sunset Boulevard which runs parallell with Hollywood Boulevard from where you can see the famous Hollywood sign on Hollywood hill. However, it's dark so we can't see it. Hopefully tomorrow. Ciao for now :)x
